Korca Lakror Festival

An eighteen-year tradition celebrated across Korça and surrounding villages including Polenë, Voskopojë and Boboshticë, showcasing lakror baked traditionally under a saç, with cooking demonstrations, folk music, dance and homemade regional products. Its spread across multiple villages gives visitors several distinct settings in which to experience the same beloved tradition.

Festa e Lakrorit celebrates one of Korça's most cherished culinary traditions each late summer, bringing gastronomes and food lovers from across Albania and beyond to sample lakror in saç, a flaky, savoury pie whose fillings range from vegetables like cabbage, nettle, spinach and squash to meat varieties made with beef or lamb, all baked traditionally under a saç, a domed metal lid covered with hot embers.
