National Immigrant Festival in Obera

A week-long celebration in Obera, Misiones, where more than a dozen immigrant communities -- German, Ukrainian, Japanese, Arab, Nordic and others -- each open a purpose-built house in the Parque de las Naciones to share food, dance and customs. Running since 1980 and a National Festival since 1992.

Obera's Parque de las Naciones has a purpose-built house for each of more than a dozen immigrant communities -- German, Swiss, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Japanese, Brazilian, Paraguayan, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, a joint Nordic house covering Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic settlers, and an Arab house representing Syrian and Lebanese communities -- and for roughly a week every September they all open to visitors at once.
