A two-weekend beer festival in Villa General Belgrano, the Córdoba sierra town built by German settlers and Graf Spee sailors, running since the 1960s. Long communal beer-garden tables fill with brass bands and folk dance troupes, while delegations representing a dozen-plus immigrant communities parade in national costume, and the house specialty, a dark beer called Monje Negro, anchors the drinks list.

Villa General Belgrano was built by German immigrants and, later, by sailors from the scuttled battleship Graf Spee who settled there in the 1940s, and its beer festival grew directly out of that inheritance.
