Tolma Festival in Sardarapat
A May food festival near the Sardarapat memorial in Armavir region since 2011, where cooks prepare roughly seventy types of tolma competing for Best Taste, Design and Idea awards, and where organizers set a documented world record of 23 metres of tolma. Its record-setting achievements reflect the genuine communal ambition behind this single-dish celebration.
Tolma Festival occupies a genuinely unique place among Armenia's food celebrations, first held in 2011 in the Armavir region near the historically significant Sardarapat memorial complex, organized by the Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions organization under the leadership of Sedrak Mamulyan.
