Bon Bini Festival in Fort Zoutman/Oranjestad
Bon Bini, meaning 'welcome' in Papiamento, is traditionally a weekly Tuesday evening cultural showcase at Fort Zoutman in Oranjestad, featuring folkloric music and dance, craft stalls and local food inside Aruba's oldest standing building. Unlike Carnival-season events, it runs year-round rather than as a single annual festival, though its schedule has faced interruptions and should be confirmed before visiting.
Long before Aruba's Carnival season or its beach music festivals draw crowds, Fort Zoutman has hosted a much simpler, recurring welcome to island culture: the Bon Bini Festival, whose name means 'welcome' in Papiamento.
