Barossa Vintage Festival in Barossa Valley

The Barossa Vintage Festival is Australia's longest-running wine festival, held every second April since the years just after World War II, when winemakers Bill Seppelt and Colin Gramp organised a Thanksgiving Ball to mark the end of harvest. Across five days, cellar doors, halls and backyards throughout the Barossa Valley open for tastings, long-table lunches, parades and live music, turning the whole region into one connected celebration.

At the end of the Second World War, Barossa winemakers Bill Seppelt of Seppelt Wines and Colin Gramp of Orlando Wines conceived a Thanksgiving Ball to mark the end of harvest and the end of the war in one celebration, and that single event grew into the Barossa Vintage Festival, now recognised as Australia's longest-running wine festival at more than 75 years old.
