National Multicultural Festival in Canberra
The National Multicultural Festival fills central Canberra and Commonwealth Park each February with free stages, food stalls, and a street parade representing cultures from around the world. Established in 1996 from a smaller 1994 fiesta, it now draws several hundred thousand visitors and over two hundred community groups. It stands among the Southern Hemisphere's largest celebrations of cultural diversity.
