Viennese Kaiser Wiesn in Vienna
Vienna's own answer to Munich's Oktoberfest, held each autumn for roughly eighteen days on the Prater's Kaiserwiese meadow with three large beer tents, five smaller alpine-style huts, live bands and free daytime access, set against the backdrop of the historic amusement park's Ferris wheel and rides. Evening tent sessions require tickets, but the genuinely central, walkable setting is what makes it notable next to Munich's much larger Theresienwiese.
Vienna's version of Oktoberfest runs not for a fortnight but across roughly eighteen days each autumn, spread over three beer tents and five smaller alpine-style huts pitched on the Kaiserwiese meadow inside the Prater, the city's historic amusement park.
