Bermuda Half Marathon Derby in Somerset/St George's to Hamilton
The Bermuda Half Marathon Derby is a long-running road race held every Bermuda Day, alternating its start point between Somerset in the west and St. George's in the east and finishing at Bernard Park in Hamilton. Tracing back to early twentieth-century inter-parish races, it runs the same morning as the Bermuda Day parade, so spectators often combine watching the finish with the parade atmosphere building nearby. The race runs each year on Bermuda Day, the Friday closest to 24 May.
The Bermuda Half Marathon Derby is one of the island's oldest continuously run road races, held every Bermuda Day and tracing its roots to early twentieth-century Round the Sound races that pitted Bermuda's western and eastern parishes against each other.
