Patagonia International Film Festival Chile in Coyhaique
Coyhaique's Patagonia-focused film festival, commonly known as FECIPA, has run since 2009, screening short and feature-length work in competitive categories dedicated specifically to Patagonian production alongside broader exhibitions and retrospectives. Programming extends beyond Coyhaique into other Aysen region localities, giving the sparsely populated far south a rare dedicated venue for regional and international cinema.
Coyhaique's home-grown film festival began small in 2009, screening its first edition at the town's own cinema with a direct goal: give a region long underserved by cultural programming a dedicated venue for watching film, especially work made in and about Patagonia itself.
