The story

Fiesta de la Vendimia Isla de Maipo in Isla de Maipo

Running since 2002, this festival fills Isla de Maipo's Plaza de Armas each late March with wine tastings from valley producers like De Martino, Tarapaca and Santa Ema, artisan stalls, a Reina de la Vendimia crowning and grape-stomping. Its location roughly forty minutes from Santiago makes it an easy day trip during the Maipo Valley's harvest season.

Isla de Maipo's Fiesta de la Vendimia began in 2002 and has run nearly every year since, becoming one of the longer-running harvest festivals among the wine towns south of Santiago.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Isla de Maipo sits inside the Maipo Valley, the historic core of Chilean wine production, giving its vendimia festival a direct connection to some of the country's best-known wineries rather than a smaller or newer wine region still building its reputation

02

The mystery stays covered

With more than a dozen participating vineyards and two decades of consecutive editions, the festival has built continuity and producer buy-in that many newer town vendimia festivals in Chile have not yet matched
