Feria Nacional del Chiverre in Laguna/Zarcero
Laguna de Zarcero's Feria Nacional del Chiverre, running since 2003 and timed to close on Palm Sunday before Holy Week, gathers more than forty local entrepreneurs selling chiverre empanadas, preserves, cajetas and turrones over five days, alongside horse exhibitions, a tope parade, brass bands and free dances at the community's sports plaza.
Laguna de Zarcero has run its chiverre fair since 2003, organized by the Asociacion de Desarrollo Integral of the community, timed deliberately to fall before Holy Week and close on Palm Sunday, a scheduling choice tied to the chiverre's traditional role in Lenten cooking.
