Festival des Grillades d'Abidjan celebrates Cote d'Ivoire's maquis grilling culture, created in 2008 by the events agency Advantage Conseils. Held each September at the Palais de la Culture in Abidjan, it pairs dozens of grilling stalls and food vendors with live concerts, drawing large local crowds. The concept has since expanded to Grand-Bassam and, since 2024, Dakar, making the Abidjan edition the original template.
