Vinistra in Porec
Vinistra, founded in Porec in 1994 and organized since 1995 by its own winegrowers' association, is Croatia's largest wine fair and competition, centered on Istrian varieties like Malvazija, Teran and Refosk, held each May in the Zatika sports hall. Entries began at a modest twenty exhibitors before growing substantially.
Vinistra was first held in Porec in 1994, organized by the Istria County administrative department for agriculture and the Institute for Agriculture and Tourism of Porec, at a time when it gathered a modest twenty exhibitors presenting around 124 wine samples for judging.
