Wine Flavor of Cyprus in Limassol

Limassol's long-running wine festival fills the seafront Municipal Gardens for roughly nine days each autumn with free tastings from wineries across Cyprus, live music, traditional dance and low-priced Cypriot food stalls. Running annually since 1961, it is one of the island's oldest festivals of any kind and remains a low-cost, high-volume way to sample the country's wine industry in a single historic park setting.

Limassol's wine festival traces back to 1961, when the municipality's development association launched it as an annual celebration of the island's winemaking heritage, and it has run every year since in the city's Municipal Gardens, a sixty-thousand-square-metre park laid out in 1888 along the seafront.
