Lofou Grape Festival in Lofou
Lofou's Palouze Festival, organised each September by the village's Community Council and its expatriate association, centres on the rare opportunity to join local farmers picking grapes at sunrise before festivities move to the elementary school courtyard for palouzes tasting, craft displays from potters and woodcarvers, traditional delicacies and folkloric entertainment.
Rising before sunrise to join local farmers in the vineyards, picking grapes alongside the people who grow them rather than only watching from the sidelines, is the specific hands-on opportunity that sets Lofou's Palouze Festival apart, organised each September by the village's Community Council together with an association of Lofou expatriates in the courtyard of the village's elementary school.
