Pano Kivides Resi Festival in Pano Kivides
Pano Kivides devotes a single day to resi, a slow-cooked wedding dish of goat or lamb and cracked wheat traditionally served only at Cypriot celebrations in the Paphos and Limassol districts. Villagers ladle it hot from communal cauldrons, pair it with zivania or village wine, and fill the day with traditional dance and music, a rare public taste of a dish most people only encounter at a wedding.
Pano Kivides, a village roughly ten kilometres north of Erimi in Limassol district, holds a festival built around a single dish: resi, a slow-cooked wedding-feast staple found mainly in the villages of the Paphos and Limassol districts.
