Santa Isabel Feast Day Malabo in Malabo
Santa Isabel Feast Day Malabo marks November 17, the feast of Elizabeth of Hungary, patron saint of the Equatoguinean capital under her colonial-era Spanish name. The Catholic Church and Malabo's city council jointly organize a thanksgiving mass at the cathedral alongside several days of civic programming: traditional dance, hair-braiding and gastronomy contests, a women entrepreneurs' fair and a Miss and Mister Santa Isabel pageant.
Malabo's cathedral fills once a year for a thanksgiving mass timed to November 17, the feast day of Elizabeth of Hungary, the city's patron saint under her Spanish-colonial name Santa Isabel.
