Montmartre Grape Harvest Festival in Paris
Montmartre's October grape harvest festival celebrates the tiny municipal vineyard at Clos Montmartre with a symbolic picking, a costumed neighbourhood parade, and a market of regional wine and food. It reconnects the district's touristic streets with its older identity as a semi-rural hilltop village on the edge of Paris.
Montmartre's Fete des Vendanges marks the annual grape harvest at the Clos Montmartre, the small municipal vineyard planted on the hill in 1933 partly to stop developers building on the plot.
