Bolnisoba in Bolnisi
Bolnisoba gathers Protected Designation of Origin wine producers from across Georgia into the self-styled City of Golden Wine for tastings, competitions, awards and live music. The town, founded in 1818 as the German colony Katarinenfeld, still has its 1854 Evangelical-Lutheran church standing alongside the wine festival's modern program.
Bolnisi carries the promotional slogan City of Golden Wine, and Bolnisoba puts that claim to the test by gathering wine producers holding Protected Designation of Origin status from across Georgia into a single town roughly sixty kilometers outside Tbilisi for tastings, competitions, awards and live music.
