The story

VorOina Athens in Athens

A tasting event organised by the Winemakers of North Greece association, bringing producers from Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus to Athens, with stands arranged by the region's eight official Wine Roads and a focus on educating visitors about northern Greek wine appellations.

The Winemakers of North Greece association traces back to 1993, when thirteen producers from the vineyards of Macedonia founded what was then called the Wine Producers Association of the Vineyard of Macedonia, later widening its membership to include Thrace and Epirus and eventually rebranding under its current name.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

VorOina structures its exhibitor floor around the eight officially designated Wine Roads of North Greece, organising producers by terroir and region rather than alphabetically, which effectively turns a single tasting event into a geographic survey of Macedonian, Thracian and Epirot winemaking

02

The mystery stays covered

The organising association itself dates to 1993, giving the event institutional continuity behind it, and its programme deliberately covers northern Greece's full stylistic range, from dry wines through semi-sweet and fortified styles to regional spirits, rather than narrowing to a single flagship variety or style
