Tokaj Harvest Days in Tokaj
Founded in 1932 by parliamentarian Miklos Lazar with delegations from neighboring villages from its very first edition, Tokaj Harvest Days centers on an early-October parade of mounted wine riders and decorated floats through the town's Festival Courtyard and Wine Courtyard. Many surrounding hillside wineries open their own doors on the same weekend as an informal extension of the festivities.
Regional member of parliament Miklos Lazar initiated the first Tokaj Harvest Days in 1932, drawing government visitors to an inaugural Harvest Week that included markets and exhibitions alongside the procession itself.
