Sanur Village Festival in Sanur

Founded in 2006 by the Sanur Development Foundation as a post-bombing economic recovery effort, the Sanur Village Festival runs roughly a week each July or August along Sanur's beach coast. It combines traditional jukung canoe races, surfing and kite-flying competitions, coral reef planting and turtle releases, culinary chef challenges, and a fun run into one community-wide program.

The Sanur Development Foundation, known locally as Yayasan Pembangunan Sanur, launched the Sanur Village Festival in 2006 as a direct economic-recovery response to the tourism downturn following Bali's bombings, and the Indonesian government has since named it among the country's top ten national tourism events.
