Port Royal Seafood Festival in Port Royal
Port Royal, the sunken pirate-era port at Kingston Harbour's mouth, has held a seafood festival on National Heroes Day, October's third Monday, since 2006, pairing fresh fish, shrimp, lobster, crab and conch with the town's colonial fortifications and history, and increasingly folded into a broader multi-day Kingston Pirates Week program.
Port Royal, the harbor town once infamous as a pirate stronghold before a 1692 earthquake sank much of it beneath Kingston Harbour, has hosted an annual seafood festival on National Heroes Day since 2006.
