Chao Anouvong Park Food Festival in Vientiane
The food festival held annually at Chao Anouvong Park on Vientiane's Mekong riverside is more widely known as the Lao Food Festival, organized by the Lao Businesswomen's Association each late January. The park's riverside statue of King Anouvong and open lawns provide the fixed setting for over a hundred stalls of regional food, crafts, and evening stage performances.
Chao Anouvong Park, a riverside green space in central Vientiane named for the last king of the Vientiane successor kingdom, who led resistance against Siamese rule in the nineteenth century, serves as the fixed venue for what is more widely known as the Lao Food Festival, organized annually by the Lao Businesswomen's Association since the mid-2000s.
