Lao Food Festival in Vientiane
The Lao Food Festival, organized annually by the Lao Businesswomen's Association at Chao Anouvong Park on Vientiane's Mekong riverside, gathers well over a hundred stalls of regional Lao dishes, desserts, agricultural products, and handicrafts each late January. Now spanning more than two decades, it has grown into one of the capital's largest cultural showcases, drawing both local families and international visitors.
Each edition of the Lao Food Festival turns Chao Anouvong Park, on the Mekong riverside in central Vientiane, into a sprawling showcase of the country's regional cooking, organized annually by the Lao Businesswomen's Association since the mid-2000s.
