Douma Festival in Douma
Douma's annual town festival, sustained since 1995, brings live music, cultural programming, and food to this red-roofed Batroun District mountain village, whose preserved nineteenth-century architecture earned it recognition as a UNWTO Best Tourism Village for 2023. A special three-day celebration in May 2024 marked that global recognition alongside the village's regular summer festival tradition.
Douma's annual festival tradition has run since 1995 according to tourism and municipal sources, making it one of the longer-sustained village cultural calendars in Lebanon's Batroun District, held in a mountain village at roughly 1,150 meters elevation whose red-tiled roofs, arched stone doorways, and carefully preserved nineteenth-century architecture have made it a standout destination even outside festival dates.
