Maletsunyane Braai Fest in Semonkong
Lesotho's largest annual braai festival, held on the last weekend of November beside the towering Maletsunyane Falls in Semonkong, combining open-fire grilling competitions, live music and tent camping at over 2,200 meters altitude with the region's existing pony trekking and abseiling adventure tourism scene near one of Africa's most famous waterfalls.
Semonkong sits roughly 115 kilometers from Maseru along a road that climbs steadily into the Maloti Mountains, and it is here, beside the thundering drop of the Maletsunyane Falls, that Lesotho stages what has become its biggest braai festival, held annually on the last weekend of November at an elevation above 2,200 meters.
