A-Ma Festival, also known as the Tin Hau Festival, honors the goddess A-Ma (Mazu), protector of seafarers, on the 23rd day of the third lunar month at Macao's A-Ma Temple, one of the city's three oldest temples, built against the cliffside of Barra Hill facing the sea. The celebration marks Mazu's birthday and Macao's deep maritime heritage.
