Pasir Gudang World Kite Festival in Pasir Gudang
The Pasir Gudang World Kite Festival, held annually since 1995 at Bukit Layang-Layang in Johor's Pasir Gudang, draws kite flyers from dozens of countries for a February gathering of decorated kites in every shape and size, alongside food fairs and carnival activities. The 2026 edition, its 28th, ran February 4 to 8 and set a Malaysia Book of Records mark for the most countries participating in a kite-flying event, with 155 international participants from 56 countries.
Pasir Gudang, an industrial port town in Johor, has hosted the World Kite Festival annually since 1995, building over three decades into one of the most internationally recognized kite events anywhere.
