GDLUZ Guadalajara Light Festival

GDLUZ transforms Guadalajara's historic center into a large-scale light art exhibition each spring, with projections, illuminated installations and interactive light pieces animating colonial buildings, plazas and cathedrals across roughly four days of free evening events. The festival draws large nightly crowds to walk a self-guided route through downtown Guadalajara as facades that are ordinarily lit only by streetlight become canvases for projected color and motion.

For most of the year, Guadalajara's historic center reveals its architecture the conventional way: sunlight during the day, streetlights and building illumination at night, the same colonial and neoclassical facades that have framed the city's downtown for centuries.
