The story

Lavender Fest Moldova in Cobustea/rotating lavender fields

Lavender Fest Moldova first opened June 20 in the lavender fields of Cobusca Noua village, Anenii Noi district, roughly 35 kilometres from Chisinau, where ethereal-oil crops have grown since 1948. The festival offers folk music, contests, master classes, family photo sessions, lavender-oil massage and an open-air classical concert across some 80 hectares of lavender, sage, fennel and rose.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

The festival's setting carries genuine agricultural depth: Cobusca Noua's ethereal-oil crops have been cultivated since 1948, so the roughly 80 hectares of lavender, sage, fennel and rose fields hosting the festival are not a recently planted attraction but the product of decades of continuous farming

02

The mystery stays covered

That history gives the festival a working-landscape authenticity rather than a purely ornamental one

03

The city starts moving

Its programming spans an unusually wide range of activities for a single-day rural festival: folk music, contests, hands-on master classes, family photo sessions among the blooms, and lavender-oil massage, capped by an open-air classical concert bringing a formal element into an otherwise rustic setting

04

The water draws everyone in

Located just 35 kilometres from Chisinau, it also offers an easy day trip from the capital
