Tikvesh Grape Harvest in Kavadarci
The Tikves Grape Harvest, known locally as Grozdober, is an autumn wine festival in Kavadarci celebrating the harvest across the Tikves wine region, source of roughly 70 percent of North Macedonia's wine production. Held each September or October as pickers move through the vineyards, the festival brings a harvest parade, grape-treading demonstrations and tastings from regional wineries into the town center for several days of celebration tied to the vine.
Tikves is the name both of a wine-producing valley in southern North Macedonia and of the identity that Kavadarci, its principal town, has built around viticulture.
