Oman Honey Festival in Muscat and governorates
The Omani Honey Souq, organized annually by Oman's Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, brings dozens of local beekeepers together to sell and showcase Omani honey, typically over a three-day exhibition in a Muscat mall. The event promotes cooperation between beekeepers and traders and educates visitors about the country's different regional honey varieties.
Honey production in Oman is concentrated in specific regions where local flora, particularly the sidr tree and other mountain and highland plants, gives the resulting honey distinctive flavour and, in some cases, considerable market value regionally.
