The Olechotel Belau Fair is Palau's grand cultural showcase, held each October around Independence Day on October 1. Running since its inception in 2001, the fair brings together groups from all sixteen of Palau's states for traditional dances, chants, state markets, cultural performances and food, organized jointly by an organizing committee and state governments.

Since 2001, every October has brought the same transformation to a fairground in or around Koror: booths representing all sixteen of Palau's states rising side by side, each preparing to serve its own traditional dishes and stage its own performances for the Olechotel Belau Fair.
