Feria Internacional de las Flores y del Cafe in Boquete
Each January, the mountain town of Boquete in Chiriqui hosts a ten-day flower and coffee fair on grounds established after a destructive 1970 flood. Vivid displays of orchids and other highland flowers fill exhibition halls alongside tastings of the region's prized coffee, including Geisha varietals, drawing visitors from across Panama and neighboring Costa Rica during the cool, dry mountain season.
Boquete's fair began, unglamorously, as a struggling coffee festival.
