Festival de la Cereza del Cafe Geisha in Boquete/Renacimiento
Festival de la Cereza del Café Geisha celebrates the coffee cherry harvest of Geisha, the aromatic variety that made the Boquete and Renacimiento highlands of Chiriquí internationally famous among specialty coffee buyers. The festival lets visitors see cherry-picking, processing, and cupping firsthand on the farms responsible for that reputation.
Geisha, sometimes spelled Gesha, is a coffee variety that traces its origin to forests in southern Ethiopia, the same region where Coffea arabica grows wild, but it owes its modern fame to Panama.
