Festival de la Mandioca in Local farming districts
Cassava, called mandioca, is one of Paraguay's most essential staple crops, and several distinct local celebrations exist around it, including a ticketed concert-style Festival de la Mandioca at Abasto Norte in Limpio, a related Dia Nacional de la Mandioca market day, and a first-time community festival organized by Bella Vista Sur's housewives commission, rather than one single unified national festival.
Cassava is so embedded in Paraguayan daily life that it rarely needs a festival to be appreciated, it shows up in chipa, in mbeju, in countless side dishes, and as a basic dietary staple across both cities and farming districts.
