The festival reached its thirty fifth edition in 2025.
Festival del Ovecha Rague is the signature annual event of San Miguel, a town in Misiones department in southern Paraguay that has built its entire regional identity around ovecha rague, the Guarani term for sheep wool, and the craft of hand-spinning and weaving that wool into ponchos, blankets, and other garments.
