Festival Internacional de la Vendimia de Ica in Ica
The Festival Internacional de la Vendimia de Ica is Peru's leading grape harvest festival, held each March in the desert wine and pisco region of Ica, combining barefoot grape stomping, a harvest queen pageant, folk dance competitions and bodega tastings across the valley's colonial-era wineries.
Ica sits in one of the driest deserts on earth, yet irrigation channels first cut by pre-Hispanic cultures and later expanded by Spanish colonists turned its valley into one of South America's most productive wine and pisco regions.
