Festival del Cafe Puno in Sandia/Tambopata
Sandia province, in the Puno region's Tambopata valley, grows coffee at some of the highest cultivation altitudes in Peru, and local growers hold a festival celebrating the harvest and the province's growing reputation in specialty coffee circles. The event brings together small highland cooperatives, cupping evaluations, and direct sales to visitors and buyers.
Puno is best known internationally for Lake Titicaca and Andean highland culture, but the region's eastern flank drops sharply from the altiplano into the Tambopata valley, a transitional zone where the Andes meet the Amazon.
