Bangus Festival in Dagupan
Bangus Festival is held each April in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, celebrating the city's identity as the Milkfish Capital of the Philippines through fish-themed street parades, cooking competitions, a giant bangus centerpiece and displays of the region's fishpond industry lining the Lingayen Gulf coast each year.
Dagupan City sits along the Lingayen Gulf coast of Pangasinan province, an area whose extensive network of brackish-water fishponds has made it one of the most significant centers of bangus, or milkfish, cultivation in the Philippines, an industry that has shaped the local economy and identity for generations.
