Mirandese Flavors Festival in Miranda do Douro
The Festival de Sabores Mirandeses has run for more than two decades in Miranda do Douro, reaching its 27th edition in 2026, celebrating the gastronomy and handicrafts of Terra de Miranda. Stalls feature Mirandesa veal, Churra lamb and pork products alongside artisan crafts each February.
Miranda do Douro sits in the far northeastern corner of Portugal, close enough to the Spanish border that the region developed its own distinct language, Mirandese, alongside its own distinct agricultural traditions built around breeds adapted specifically to this cold, elevated plateau.
