Big Maneuvers on Khokhlovka Hills in Khokhlovka

Big Maneuvers on Khokhlovka Hills is the only military-historical festival in Perm Region, first held in 2007 at the Khokhlovka open-air architecture-ethnography museum. It draws reenactment clubs from around 20 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, for staged medieval combat, World War II-era displays and a closing reconstruction of a 1945 battle involving vehicles and armored equipment.

Khokhlovka, a village on the Kama River not far from Perm, is home to one of Russia's notable open-air architecture and ethnography museums, a collection of authentic wooden churches, houses, windmills and other structures relocated from villages across Perm Region to preserve traditional Ural wooden building techniques that might otherwise have been lost to time and decay.
