Don Vine Ethnographic Festival in Pukhlyakovsky
Each year on the last Saturday of September, the hamlet of Pukhlyakovsky in Rostov region hosts Donskaya Loza, an ethnographic wine festival celebrating the Don's grape-growing and winemaking traditions. Regional vineyards and wineries showcase their wines alongside honey, autumn harvest produce, and grapevine cuttings, while Cossack dance performances, craft stalls, and children's activities fill the riverside program.
The Don River has supported vineyards for longer than most visitors would guess, and Pukhlyakovsky, a small hamlet in the Ust-Donetsk district of Rostov region, sits at the heart of that history.
