Axe Day Tomsk in Tomsk
Axe Day, Prazdnik Topora, is an international folk-crafts festival held not in Tomsk city itself but at the Okolitsa nature park in the village of Zorkaltsevo in Tomsk District, running since 2008. Spread across 17 hectares, it centers on woodcarving competitions alongside blacksmithing, ceramics and birch-bark craft, drawing hundreds of participants and thousands of visitors from across Russia and neighboring countries each year.
The Okolitsa nature park sits in Zorkaltsevo, a village in Tomsk District just outside the city itself, and for a stretch of nearly two decades it has hosted one of Siberia's best-known craft gatherings: Prazdnik Topora, Axe Day, running since 2008 and drawing hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators from across Russia and nearby countries to its 17 hectares of parkland.
