Jounen Kweyol in Multi-community
Jounen Kwéyòl, Saint Lucia's Creole Day, falls on the last Sunday of October and traces to 1983's International Creole Day broadcasts, with the first community celebration held in Mon Repos in 1984. Communities across the island now take turns hosting, filling streets with madras dress, quadrille dancing and Creole food.
On the last Sunday of October, Saint Lucia comes to a full stop for Jounen Kwéyòl, or Creole Day, the culminating celebration of the island's month-long Creole Heritage observance.
