Oplenac Grape Harvest in Topola
Oplenac Grape Harvest is an autumn festival held each October in Topola, Sumadija, on the slopes below Oplenac Hill and the Karadjordjevic royal mausoleum. Running since the early 1960s, the three-day event combines wine tastings, exhibitions of grapes, fruit, and livestock, folk handicrafts, and cultural performances, marking the end of the grape harvest around the vineyards once tended for the Serbian royal family.
Each October, the vineyard slopes below Oplenac Hill in Topola fill with a harvest fair that has run, with only minor interruptions, since the early 1960s.
