The story

Rača Wine Festival in Rača/Bratislava

Racianske vinobranie is one of Slovakia's largest wine harvest festivals, held each September in the Bratislava borough of Raca. The free-admission event spans four stages across the district, from the Kniznikova dolina amphitheater to a roundabout stage and municipal garden chill-out zone, combining more than 20 local wineries with music and a traditional allegorical procession.

Raca is a borough on the northern edge of Bratislava, set against the same Little Carpathian foothills that produce wine along the route running toward Pezinok and Modra, which makes it one of the few places where a capital-city district doubles as an active wine-growing community.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Raca is one of Bratislava's own wine-growing boroughs, so the festival lets visitors experience a working wine district within city limits rather than traveling to a separate rural region

02

The mystery stays covered

The program splits across four stages with different characters: an amphitheater in Kniznikova dolina for the main folklore and music program, a Roundabout stage at Andrej Hlinka Square, a chill-out zone in the Municipal Garden, and a children's zone in J

03

The city starts moving

A traditional allegorical procession on Saturday afternoon ties the festival back to older Central European harvest-parade customs, and admission is free, with only tastings and food charged separately
