Old Vine Festival Maribor in Maribor
The Old Vine Festival centers on Stara trta, the Guinness-recognized world's oldest grapevine, still fruiting after more than 400 years on a house facade in Maribor's Lent old town. The multi-week celebration runs from the ceremonial Zametovka grape harvest in late September until Saint Martin's Day on November 11.
On the facade of a house in Maribor's Lent old town, beside the Drava River, grows a vine that has produced grapes for more than four hundred years and holds Guinness World Records recognition as the oldest grapevine still in cultivation anywhere on earth.
